Week of 29th

This was a fun week. My dad would make this little box click and then feed me cheese. Oh… I like this cheese stuff! It was so cool, click cheese click cheese click cheese click cheese. I could get use to this! Then, he stuck is hand out, don’t know what he was doing, so I decided to touch it with my nose and there it was, click cheese. Sweet!!!!! We played that game for a little while, hand… nose… click… cheese. This is so awesome. Later he started making me do a sit… click cheese, and then a down… click cheese. Wow… I love cheese!!!

March 28th

Today we were back at the herding trial but it was cold and wet so I stayed in the warm car much of the day. I did get out for a few walks again. I found out Blackie is going far away for school. I think he said that he was heading up to a place called Chicago. I also found out that he is going to go by the name of Tony for now as well. It was an easy day today.

March 27th

Today was another long car ride. Not sure where I ended up at first but I didn’t care because there was my brother and sisters (Pee Wee, Blackie and Sweetie). We played like crazy in a big pen and many many humans came to look at and play with us. I found out that Sweetie has a new name, from this point forward I have to call her Velvet.

My dad took me out for many walks and I found out we were at the Bluegrass Benefit Herding Trial in Perryville, Kentucky. I’m not sure what Kentucky is or where it is, but oh it was so nice here. We climbed a big hill with Joon and Melody and my dad tried to get me to sit still while he took a picture but I would have none of that.

When it got dark, we went to a building that had many smells, I think he called it a hotel. It was here that I learned to bring my dad the ball. What I don’t understand, if he wants the ball, why does he throw it away every time I give it to him. He is such a nut!

Week of 22nd

My dad leaves during the day and I spend most of the time with my new mom. One of the days I went for another car ride and visited many new humans and went for a walk around a big pond, Joon came with me for this ride. I found out I was at my dad’s work. It’s too bad he has to go there so much as I rather he stay home and play with me! My dad said, “Get use to it, this is what sheepdogs do.” I didn’t understand what he meant by that until that evening we were back at my old place. I saw my mom (Mint), Grandpa Roy was there and so was the hairy one Monty. I was so excited to see Pee Wee, Blackie and Henry again. We chased and chased all around the house while Joon was in the big field playing with woolies again. Oh… I was so tired, I slept the whole way home.

March 20th

This was a very strange day and I’m not sure what is happening. Our human took Sweetie, Saddleback and Genius, put them in the steel box and left Pee Wee, Blackie and I inside our box within the warm house. I do not know where they went off to and then my daddy with Joon showed up again. He let the three of us out and chased us around for a little while until he went and played with the woolies again.

It was a fun morning, Pee Wee was off doing who knows what but Blackie and I decided to help my daddy with the woolies. He was trying to put a bunch of the woolies into this area and every time they came close we would jump up and bark and the woolies would run away. Ha, that was so fun.

When he was done with the woolies, he put Joon in the big water bowl for the woolies (water troft). She didn't look like she needed a bath and why would you sit in the water bowl? He then put Joon back in the steel box and then he put Pee Wee and Blackie back in our box, but me, I ended up in the steel box with Joon. I’m not sure what is happening, I am rather scared!!! I yelled and yelled for my mom to help me but nothing ever happened.

When we stopped, he let me out and I played with Joon in a new area that I didn't know. Slowly, one by one he brought out more four legged friends for me to meet and one by one they sniffed me all over. I’m not sure what was happening but he told me the names of each one when they were sniffing me. First I met Melody, she was a gray. I then met Mist who was black and white like my mom but hairy. After that I met another one that looked just like Joon but my daddy said his name was Aiden and then finally I met another hairy black and white named Cruz. I see another black and white one running around, but they won’t let me play with him, I think his name is Benny.

March 16th

Today my daddy stopped by the house again. This time he brought his hairy red and white four legged friend (Joon) who has been showing up a lot now that the cold white stuff is gone.

He let us out of our box and opened the door so we could all run outside. Had much fun again today chasing everyone around and playing with Henry while he took the red and white out into the big field to play with those wooly things.

Blackie, Pee Wee and I watched while Saddleback and Genius were running around with a piece of paper. Not sure what they were doing. I don’t even know where Sweetie went off to, probably under the deck again.

The human played with all of us again after putting the red and white in a steel box (mini van) and then he disappeared when it got dark.

March 13th

Today was an interesting day. All of us were left home alone with Grandpa Roy to baby sit for us. Who says we are babies? We are 7 weeks old already! We so missed our mom because all Grandpa did was look at us. He wouldn't even play with us or anything. Just look, that's all he did.

Later that evening, many friends of our human came by for a visit. There was much noise with hootin’ and hollerin’ going on. Some of the humans even brought these big two foot around frisbees (which we later found out were large pizzas). Anyways, one by one the humans played with each one of us and some even made us stand on the table all stiff like a board while they talked. I’m pretty sure they were talking about us.

When it got dark, one of the humans picked me up, hugged me, whispered in my ear, “From this point forward, you will be known as Emma, not Dot, welcome to the family little girl. See you in a week!” I’m not sure what he meant by that, but I later found out his name is Mike, my new daddy.
